Demand for traditional programming roles has plummeted, with web developer job openings leading the way, down 72%. However, AI-related positions have bucked the trend, reflecting the industry&#8217;s transformation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the latest data from Indeed, overall tech job openings have plummeted 35% compared to early 2020. Roughly half of this decline occurred after the pandemic, when tech companies realized they were overhiring, while the other half occurred after the launch of ChatGPT in late 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Traditional_development_jobs_plummet_while_AI_job_openings_buck_the_trend\"><\/span>Traditional development jobs plummet, while AI job openings buck the trend<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>As of July 2025, data from AI recruitment platform Jobright shows that Amazon currently has approximately 2,898 AI-related job openings, far exceeding Meta&#8217;s 767 positions.
