According to Nvidia&#8217;s 13F filing released in September 2024, Nvidia has acquired a stake of approximately 3% in the company. Applied Digital&#8217;s stock price rose 4% on this news.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Nvidia&#8217;s 13F filing released in mid-August 2025, as of June 30, Applied Digital held a 1.79% investment allocation. Applied Digital specializes in building and operating data center infrastructure for high-performance computing. The investment will subsequently add 300 megawatts of data center capacity to meet surging data center demand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On September 5th, Applied Digital&#8217;s stock price soared 65.74% following this news.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Competitive_advantages\"><\/span>Competitive advantages<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Electricity_Cost_Advantage\"><\/span>Electricity Cost Advantage<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Applied Digital is able to build a next-generation data center that supports the demands of artificial intelligence and high-performance computing. Its key features are high efficiency, scalability, and low energy costs. Electricity prices in North Dakota, where the company is based, are 24% lower than the national average, significantly reducing operating costs and enhancing its competitiveness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Nvidias_Endorsement\"><\/span>Nvidia&#8217;s Endorsement<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>With investments from Nvidia, Related Group, and Macquarie Asset Management, funding will not be a problem. Furthermore, there&#8217;s no doubt that Nvidia will leverage its investment to generate revenue for Applied Digital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Customers_and_Partners\"><\/span>Customers and Partners<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Reliance_on_CoreWeave\"><\/span>Reliance on CoreWeave<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Applied Digital just signed two 15-year leases with CoreWeave in June 2020, generating approximately $7 billion in revenue for the data center operator over the lease period, a testament to its high-performance computing strategy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The deal could be a critical lifeline for Applied Digital, which is facing challenges in the data center hosting sector as it transitions to a data center real estate investment trust. Following the announcement of the leases, the company&#8217;s stock surged 17% in pre-market trading.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"CoreWeave_also_benefited\"><\/span>CoreWeave also benefited<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>CoreWeave leases data center infrastructure from companies like Applied Digital, helping to alleviate some of the financial burden of delivering AI-centric cloud services. The company plans to invest $3 billion in the facility.
