In fact, many of these impressions of Japan being advanced that have long been imprinted in the minds of Taiwanese people are no longer true. Once the country we learn from is no longer a model for us to follow, and when its national power is declining, there are few Taiwanese people mentioned that this is actually very detrimental to Taiwan (when your master’s skills are no longer what they used to be).
